メキシコ人の相棒エル・トロとともに西部を渡り歩いて悪人と戦うキット・カースンの物語。
キット・カースン(Kit Carson,1809年12月24日〜1868年5月23日、本名クリストファー・ヒューストン・カースン)は西部開拓時代に実在した人物で、白人とインディアンの融和に大きな功績を上げた。
ただし、物語自体は、テレビ西部劇「アニーよ銃をとれ」と同じく、名前だけを借りた完全なフィクションである。
